Researchers from all partner institutions of the Mistral project gathered in Barcelona this week, on November 25th and 26th, for the Mistral 2024 Annual Meeting at the CosmoCaixa Museum. The meeting’s primary goal was to present the latest findings of the project, which is nearing its conclusion, and to strategize for the final years of the initiative.
As the project enters its final stages, the meeting provided an essential platform for productive discussions and the sharing of groundbreaking research. These sessions are crucial for aligning efforts across the consortium and defining the roadmap for the project’s remaining work.
During the two-day event, attendees discussed a wide range of topics related to the microbiome’s role in HIV-1 treatment and prevention, including its impact on vaccine responses and antiretroviral therapies. The presentations also covered the integration of data and systems biology approaches, as well as regulatory aspects and responsible research practices.
The second day focused on the development of tools for patient stratification and project management, alongside communication and exploitation strategies for disseminating results. The meeting concluded with a steering committee session, where the overall progress of the project was reviewed and future directions were outlined.
This annual meeting showcased the continued collaboration and excellence in science within the Mistral project, underscoring the international team’s commitment to advancing HIV research through innovative microbiome-focused approaches.
