Elisa Rubio is a pharmacist graduated from the University of Barcelona (UB). She specialized in Clinical Microbiology and Parasitology at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona in 2018. Currently she is studying for a Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics. Her main research interests are microbiome analysis and the development of new tools for rapid detection and control of multi-drug resistant bacteria.

She participates in MISTRAL project studying the in vitro antibacterial activity of antiretroviral therapies and selection of antibiotic resistant mutants and analysing the gut bacterial resistome from a phenotypic approach.
